On May 5, a meeting between the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia and Kazbek Kokov, Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, took place in Nalchik as part of the Russian-Abkhaz Cross Youth Forum.

The Abkhaz delegation included: Tarash Khagba (head of the delegation), Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Youth and Sports; Dzhemal Bganba, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia; and Astamur Bagatelia, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Repatriation.

The meeting was constructive and fruitful. A warm exchange of greetings followed, after which the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of previously reached agreements within the framework of the signed agreements.

Key topics on the agenda included youth policy, strengthening the traditions of friendship and good-neighborliness, and cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. During the meeting, the Abkhaz delegation noted the special feelings evoked by the presence of a fraternal nation on their soil. Participants recalled the heroic deeds of the valiant sons of the North Caucasus, natives of Kabardino-Balkaria, who stood shoulder to shoulder with the Abkhaz people in an unequal battle and made an invaluable contribution to defending Abkhazia's independence.

For his part, Kazbek Kokov, Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic thanked Tarash Khagba and the entire Abkhaz delegation for their visit to Kabardino-Balkaria. He emphasized that the youth of the two republics have much in common—a shared attitude toward concepts such as homeland, family, honor, friendship, respect for elders, and historical memory. Kazbek Kokov also expressed sincere gratitude to Badre Gunba, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, for his openness and fruitful cooperation, expressing confidence in the successful implementation of joint projects.
