On February 19, 2026, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in the opening of ceremony of the forum "60 Years of the Geneva Agreement: Relevance, Legitimacy, and Venezuela's Historical Position" at the invitation of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The forum was held at the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and chaired by Iván Gil Pinto, Foreign Minister.

During his speech, Minister Gil reaffirmed the Bolivarian Republic's unwavering historical position on protecting of state sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the enduring legal force of the 1966 Geneva Agreement as the only legitimate international legal instrument for the peaceful settlement of the Guyana-Esequibo dispute.

Prominent legal experts also delivered presentations at the forum: Dr. Antonio Remiro Brotons, Professor Emeritus of Public International Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid and Advocate of the International Court of Justice, and María Esperanza Orihuela, Professor of Public International law.
