On November 14, a working meeting was held between Alexander Vataman, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, and Vadim Doni, Chairman of the Tiraspol City Council of People's Deputies at the Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
During the meeting, Alexander Vataman briefed his interlocutor on the local government elections held in the Republic of Abkhazia. He discussed in more detail on the election of deputies to the Sukhum City Council and the first meeting of the 8-th convocation of the Sukhum City Council.
Vadim Doni congratulated the people of Abkhazia on the successful conduct of the elections, noting that citizen participation is growing, confirming that society recognizes and understands the importance of local government. He confirmed that the Tiraspol City Council of People's Deputies is ready to continue working with its colleagues in Sukhumi, Tiraspol's twin city.
During their conversation, Alexander Vataman and Vadim Doni also discussed issues related to the current situation in Abkhazia and Transnistria, emphasizing the need to maintain and develop bilateral cooperation in all possible areas, including through local governments in the cities and districts of the fraternal republics.
