On June 10, 2025 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Zaur Gvadzhava, at the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to the national holiday of the Russian Federation - the Russia Day.

The ceremony took place in the National Pantheon "Mausoleum of Simon Bolivar" in Caracas.

The official part was headed by Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov. On the same day, a gala evening was held at the Gran Melia Hotel Caracas.

The evening began with a welcoming speech by Ambassador Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, after which Foreign Minister Ivan Gil addressed those present, conveying congratulations and words of solidarity on behalf of the President Nicolas Maduro in honor of the celebration of Russia Day.

The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of the Venezuelan government, members of the National Assembly, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, media representatives and other invited guests.
