On December 16, 2025, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, at the invitation of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended a pre-New Year's gala meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Iván Gil.

The event took place in Caracas, in the historic Casa Amarilla building of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Addressing the diplomatic corps, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil emphasized that the Venezuelan government strives for true peace. He noted that these are not just political slogans or calculations, but a fundamental value for human development.

Iván Gil noted that the Bolivarian government promotes the idea of true peace based on human development. He stated that the pursuit of peace is a value that "flows in our veins," more important than any political slogans or geopolitical calculations. He warned that peace is currently threatened by the actions of those who seek to impose their will on other peoples.

The minister also recalled the heroic past of nations such as Russia, Abkhazia, and Belarus: back in 1941, they stood shoulder to shoulder, fighting for the freedom of their people and the right to peaceful life. This shared historical memory of the struggle for sovereignty unites our countries today.

Concluding the meeting, Iván Gil, on behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, conveyed words of solidarity to all peoples of the world and expressed hope that the coming year, 2026, will be a year of peace, cooperation, and creation.
