On February 3, a meeting was held between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Konstantin Kochiev, State Advisor to the President of the Republic of South Ossetia.

During the meeting, preparations for the upcoming 66-th round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus were discussed.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to closely coordinating of their positions on key issues on the Discussions' agenda, with an emphasis on ensuring of lasting security for the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia.

The importance of developing legally binding guarantees regarding the non-use of force by Georgia against Abkhazia and South Ossetia was noted.
