Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsits congratulated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on his birthday.

The congratulatory message notes, in particular:

"For many years, you have consistently and with your well known professional commitment led the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, skillfully and consistently strengthening the Russian Federation's position on the global stage. Your extensive diplomatic experience, statesmanlike thinking, and integrity in defending national interests have earned you well-deserved respect in Russia and abroad.

In the Republic of Abkhazia, you are known as a great friend and your continued attention to the development of Abkhazian-Russian cooperation is extremely valued.

I fondly recall our previous meeting last October in Sochi, which once again confirmed the genuinely allied and fraternal nature of the relationship between our countries.

I am confident that the friendship, mutual trust, and constructive interaction that has developed between our foreign ministries will continue to be filled with new meaning for the benefit of our peoples."
