On September 26, 2025, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, Oleg Bartsits, spoke at the opening of the Federal Educational Marathon "Knowledge. First ones" which opened at the Razhden Gumba Abkhazian State Philharmonic in Sukhum.

A meeting between Oleg Bartsits, the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Abkhazia, Diana Piliia and Anait Smbatyan, Professor of the International Law Department at the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia. Abkhazian Foreign Ministry staff also participated in the meeting.

At the invitation of the Embassy of the Holy See (Vatican) in the Syrian Arab Republic, Muhammad Ali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to Syria, attended a farewell ceremony held in Damascus.

On September 24, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Nicaragua Inar Ladariia and Minister-Counselor of the Embassy Alias ​​Aiba attended a ceremony marking the Republic of Nicaragua's recognition of Russia's new regions—the Donetsk People's Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions—as integral parts of the Russian Federation.

On October 1, 2025, a meeting will be held between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Sochi. The two foreign ministers will “compare notes” on current issues on the bilateral and regional agenda.

On September 22, staff from the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic accompanied Syrian students who are heading to the Republic of Abkhazia to study at Abkhazian State University's preparatory Russian language classes in 2025-2026.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia. This historic document, signed on September 19, 2005, in Tskhinval, enshrined the historical traditions of brotherhood, mutual assistance, and partnership between our peoples and states.

On September 18, an online meeting was held between Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Abkhazia Gulnara Kichba and Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vladimir Ladunkin.

I cannot leave without comment the speech by Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Lasha Darsalia on behalf of Georgia at the 69th IAEA General Conference. I strongly reject the use of the terms "occupation" and "separatist regions" in relation to Abkhazia. The Republic of Abkhazia views itself as a sovereign state, whose independence was achieved through the free expression of the will of its people following the 1992–1993 war. It was recognized as a sovereign and independent state on August 26, 2008, by the Russian Federation and other Russian allies, who supported its decision and the Abkhazian people's expression of will in the referendum.
