On May 13, 2026, a lecture was held at Abkhaz State University. It was organized by the Council of Young Diplomats (CYD) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of History and Theory of International Relations for students of the department.
The lecture was held in anticipation of the 33-rd anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will be celebrated on May 17 Irina Turava, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Esma Gurgulia, Head of Department attended the event.
Opening the lecture, Astanda Pataraia, CYD Chairperson noted: "Holding this lecture is a recognition of mentoring as a strategic resource and a crucial element of intergenerational continuity.Our goal is a lively dialogue that preserves the traditions of the Abkhaz diplomatic service. I hope that the experience of our employees will serve as an inspiration to those who decide to choose the noble path of serving the interests of their native country."
The event featured presentations by Alisa Barzania, Deputy Chief of Staff and Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the history of the ministry's development and its role in the structure of state power;
Astanda Pataraia, Chair of the Council of Young Diplomats and Senior Assistant of the Department for Interaction with International Organizations on the activities and priority areas of the Council of Young Diplomats;
Astamur Asabua and Said Tarba, Assistants of the State Protocol Department on the specifics of the protocol service;
Milana Abshilava, Assistant of the Chancellery Department and Assistant-Translator of the Translation Department on Language as a Foreign Policy Instrument and a Factor of Sovereignty Victoria Malania, Assistant of the Department for Interaction with InternationalOrganizations and Deputy Chair of the Council of Young Diplomats on Interaction with INGOs and UN Agencies in the Republic of Abkhazia.
The event was held in the format of an open dialogue. Following the presentations, a discussion session was held, during which students from the relevant department had the opportunity to ask questions.
