On May 18, Odyssey Bigvava, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia at the invitation of Alba Azucena Torres Mejía, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Abkhazia participated in a diplomatic reception organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation to mark the 131-st anniversary of the birth of Augusto César Sandino.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Russian Federation also attended the event.

During the diplomatic reception, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Odyssey Bigvava held a conversation with Alba Azucena Torres Mejía, Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Abkhazia. The parties expressed interest in further strengthening friendly relations between Abkhazia and Nicaragua, as well as developing of practical areas of bilateral cooperation.
