I assess the results of the visit as very fruitful and useful. A very interested and engaging dialogue took place with my colleague, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, during which we discussed a large array of interstate relations that required discussion today, issues that are extremely important for the citizens of our country, a wide range of interstate cooperation, interdepartmental interaction.
And most importantly, I would like to once again emphasize the issues, a number of issues that are very important for the citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia. We discussed issues of consular cooperation, and separately touched upon the conclusions that follow from the Agreement between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation on the settlement of dual citizenship issues. Those issues that concern our citizens, especially the younger part of them.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs gave instructions to the relevant departments for development. Our delegation is working actively, working with full dedication. Consultations are underway in various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They will continue. I hope that we will keep on cooperating constructively in the entire area of our cooperation with the Russian Federation.
Of course, the focus of our discussions, our negotiations were security issues, maintaining the general security contour in the South Caucasus and the Eastern Black Sea region.
We gave special attention to these matters. We also touched on the format of our cooperation with Russia in the Geneva consultations, which are of great importance for our country.
In addition, of course, we touched on socio-economic cooperation, those projects that are actively promoted and developed today in the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.
I am confident that during the visit we will discuss the entire spectrum of existing problems and outline the shortest and most basic ways to resolve all these issues.
