Periodically there is information about performances in Europe by Georgian creative groups that position themselves as allegedly "Abkhazian" ones, in the names of which the Republic of Abkhazia, the town of Sukhum, are mentioned. These include the so-called "State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of Georgia "Aphkhazeti", the "Shavnabada" choir, the "Drama Theater of the town of Sokhumi" ("Sokhumi Drama Theater") and others.

We would like to note that this is nothing more than an outright lie and deliberate disinformation aimed at the international isolation of the Republic of Abkhazia.
We emphasize once again that such groups have never had and do not have any relation to the Republic of Abkhazia.

Such performances, as well as the impossibility of our groups to perform in the same European countries in different years due to the policy of double standards, represent a kind of attempt to cancel the real Abkhazian culture, to rewrite the history of our people, whose outstanding representatives worked in different countries of the world. In the Republic of Abkhazia, there are a number of state creative groups, including the State Honored Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance of the Republic of Abkhazia. However, the group cannot tour the world with national passports of the Republic of Abkhazia. Therefore, the inalienable, fundamental right of citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia to free movement is violated.

Thus, Europe, which positions itself as a stronghold of democracy, where freedom of speech is guaranteed, in fact has long been violating the principle of non-interference of politics in culture and sports.

The Abkhazian side will continue to include this issue in the agenda of International discussions on security and stability in South Caucasus.
