The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Oleg Bartsits, received the new Head of Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Republic of Abkhazia, Valeria Dzhemello, who will assume her duties on January 12, 2026.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of Mission of the ICRC in the Republic of Abkhazia, Chyngyz Raimbekov, who is leaving the office, Assistant Head of Mission Boris Kazanba, and the Head of the Department for Interaction with International Organizations of the MFA, Saria Dzhopua.

Chyngyz Raimbekov introduced the new Head of the ICRC Mission, Valeria Dzhemello, to the Minister. During the meeting, he briefed Oleg Bartsits in detail on the main areas of ICRC activity in Abkhazia and the Mission's accomplishments during his tenure.

Oleg Bartsits thanked Chyngyz Raimbekov for his work, emphasizing the importance of the humanitarian initiatives implemented.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomed the new Head of the ICRC Mission in Abkhazia, Valeria Dzhemello, and wished her success in her future endeavors, expressing hope for continued effective cooperation.

The meeting participants discussed the current work of the ICRC Mission in Abkhazia and plans for future collaboration.
