On December 4, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsits received the President of the Federation of Abkhazian Cultural Centers in Turkey, Yavuz Atryshba, head of the delegation of compatriots.
Participating in the meeting were: Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey, Ibrahim Avidzba, and Head of the Middle East and Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Artur Gaguliia.
Oleg Bartsits congratulated Yavuz Atryshba on his election victory and expressed confidence that he will carry this high title with dignity, just as he stood with his people during the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia in 1992-1993.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted the importance of the joint work being carried out by the Federation of Abkhazian Cultural Centers in Turkey and the Plenipotentiary Representative Office of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey.
"We are persistently pursuing this work and have recently been devoting considerable attention to this collaboration, as it is important for us to understand how our brothers and sisters in Turkey see the events unfolding in Abkhazia. Today is a dynamic period in our country's development, when, with the support of our strategic ally, the Russian Federation, we are building our state project. It is crucial for us that our brothers and sisters, our compatriots around the world, know what is happening in Abkhazia and contribute to these processes," said Oleg Bartsits.
The President of the Federation of Abkhazian Cultural Centers in Turkey, Yavuz Atryshba, thanked the Minister and noted that the elections had gone well. "We won. There were no losers. Whoever won, we share the same path, the same thoughts, and everything would have been fine in any case. For us, the state policy of the Republic of Abkhazia is also a diaspora policy," he said.
The Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey, Ibrahim Avidzba, told about existing projects for interaction with compatriots from Turkey and other countries.
"I want to tell my compatriots, both those here and those in Turkey: we are all together, we have one homeland and one state, and we must work for its benefit. This is our task, and we will certainly strive unanimously to achieve these goals. I am confident that the programs we discussed above will be implemented," said Ibrahim Avidzba.
During the meeting, current issues of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federation of Abkhazian Cultural Centers in Turkey, as well as the possibility of implementing joint humanitarian and cultural projects, were discussed.
