On October 3, 2025, a meeting was held between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Sergei Markedonov, political scientist, leading researcher at the Institute of International Studies at MGIMO University, and editor-in-chief of the journal "International Analytics" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on a number of pressing issues on the regional and international agendas, as well as on Abkhaz-Russian cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation formats in diplomatic education and personnel training for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, including at MGIMO, as well as interaction with Russian academic and expert circles.

Oleg Bartsits expressed gratitude to Sergei Markedonov for his attention to Abkhazia, emphasizing the critical importance of the Russian expert community's interest in issues related to Abkhazia. He noted that maintaining contacts in this area contributes to a more objective view of the republic in the international community.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
