On December 22, 2022, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic Muhammed Ali met with the Head of the Communications and Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria Mr. Anfawan Al-Naib.

The parties discussed the activation of cooperation within the framework of the signed agreements, in particular, in the trade and economic spheres.

A number of agreements were also discussed, the signing of which is planned during the meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.

In his turn, Mr. Al-Naib stressed the strategic importance of developing bilateral relations and expressed readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Abkhazia in the SAR.
