The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, sent an address to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the recognition by the Republic of Nicaragua of the independence and state sovereignty of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The address says, in part:

“Today is a special day for our country. On September 3, 2008, the inalienable right of the people of Abkhazia to freedom and independent development was supported by the people of Nicaragua, who know well all the trials on the path to independence in the person of their great leader and friend of Abkhazia, Comandante José Daniel Ortega Saavedra.

The agenda of our interstate communication is expanding. We welcome the confident development of our political dialogue.”
