The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, sent a congratulatory note to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Akhsar Dzhioev, on the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

The recognition by the Russian Federation of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia as sovereign and independent states on August 26, 2008 was one of the most important milestones in the modern history of our states.

Preserving its national identity and centuries-old traditions, the Republic of South Ossetia is confidently moving along the path of development and strengthening of the state.

We appreciate the relations we have built with South Ossetia. We are confident that by joint efforts we will continue to systematically intensify bilateral interstate cooperation in all areas for the sake of the well-being of our peoples.
