The 49th meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in Gal on September 19. The Abkhaz group included: Timur Shergelia, the Head of the Gali District Department of the State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia, Astamur Kolbaya, the Deputy Head of the Department of the Central Staff of the State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia and Mamuka Kakulia, the Representative of the Defense Ministry.

The number of issues related to the facts of illegal crossing the state border was on the agenda. The meeting participants also continued discussing of various aspects of cross-border cooperation and security.

They agreed to hold the next meeting of the IPRM on October 25, 2017.
