The 9th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia is celebrated on September 17, 2017.
The Agreement became the cornerstone of bilateral relations and the foundation of the legal framework on the basis of which dozens of documents were signed in all areas of the Russian-Abkhaz cooperation. The Agreement demanded by time and historical development laid the solid foundation for long-term strategic partnership in the fields of politics, economy, energy, transport, military-technical cooperation, science, culture, education, information and health created the necessary basis for the formation of mechanisms for effective bilateral interaction and made it possible to advance in resolving many issues in bilateral relations bringing together an understanding of existing problems and bringing two independent countries to the new level.
This program document played an important role in strengthening peace and stability in the region becoming the reliable barrier on aggressive plans to change the finally formed historical realities.
The level of partnership achieved by us confirms high standards of mutual understanding and a positive attitude towards further close cooperation and the deep development of allied relations.
Today we may say with confidence that the Russian-Abkhazian interstate relations are acquiring special significance playing the considerable role in strengthening confidence, stability and security in the context of the development of the situation in Pridnestrovie.
