The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, on the Day of Russia, a public holiday.

The congratulations say, in part:

The Russian Federation celebrates this significant day as one of the most powerful countries that makes an invaluable contribution to ensuring international and regional stability and security, and the formation of a just world order. 

Relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, based on strong ties of friendship, principles of alliance and strategic partnership, are fruitfully developing in all areas of mutual interest.

I am convinced that active inter-MFA cooperation will serve as an additional impetus for strengthening interstate Abkhazian-Russian cooperation.”
