On December 20, 2021 negotiations with Sergei Lavrov, the Russian counterpart took place in the city of Sochi.

We agreed to expand cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the regions of the Russian Federation. This will open up wide opportunities for attracting investments to our country.

They also discussed the possibility of the Russian side providing assistance in the dissemination of information in order to protect and promote the national interests of the Republic of Abkhazia. In this regard, the opening of a joint Media Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is being considered.

We considered a number of topics of mutual interest, including the need to resume regular flights between Abkhazia and Russia.

For the Russian Federation, as an ally and strategic partner of our country, a stable internal political situation in Abkhazia is extremely important. Our international image, expansion of foreign policy contacts, positive progress in the implementation of socio-economic development programs directly depend on this.

The talks were held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere.
