On February 19, 2024, Lasha Avidzba, the Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia met with Alexey Klimov, the Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting between Lasha Avidzba and his Russian colleague Alexei Klimov at the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs consultations were held on topical issues of interdepartmental interaction. 

The parties discussed issues of coordination of the actions of the consular departments of the two countries, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest. 

The meeting was also attended by Renad Benia, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation and Damey Gitsba, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation - as well as the leadership of the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
