On December 20, in Sochi, a meeting was held between the heads of the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, Inal Ardzinba and Sergey Lavrov.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of Abkhazian-Russian relations, exchanged views on key issues of the bilateral agenda.

The Russian side expressed its readiness to provide all-round assistance in strengthening security, developing the socio-economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres.

"Abkhazia is grateful to Russia for its comprehensive support in ensuring the country's security and its socio-economic development," said Abkhazian Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba at the talks with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
