On November 6, a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was held under Inal Ardzinba, the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the participation of Mikhail Shurgalin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia and Oleg Botsiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia.

The agenda of the meeting included the following issues: the results of the visit of the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Belarus in October of this year, the situation in the Middle East, the Abkhaz-Palestinian dialogue and the appointment of Muhammad Ali, a new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic interaction Republic of Abkhazia with international organizations and UN agencies.

During the meeting, Inal Ardzinba, Foreign Minister informed that following the visit of the government delegation to the Republic of Belarus, an interdepartmental dialogue of ministries is being conducted in various areas: The Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture, Public Security through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the field of sports, relations between capitals. Abkhaz-Belarusian interdepartmental action plans are being formed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the trip of the Abkhaz delegation to Belarus took place despite the intense resistance of Georgian diplomats.

He noted that diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Georgia are on a downward trajectory.

Speaking about the participation of the Republic of Abkhazia in integration associations in the post-Soviet space, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia emphasized that interaction with integration associations is carried out in accordance with Art. 3 Agreement between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation on alliance and strategic partnership. There is interaction with representatives of the Permanent Committee of the Union State, as well as with various representatives of the secretariats and structures of the CIS, OCST, and EAEU.

The leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia believes that as a result of the Northeast Military District, integration processes in the post-Soviet space will acquire new qualities and forms. In this regard, the meeting participants noted the prematureness of any meetings devoted to discussing specific issues of the participation of the Republic of Abkhazia in integration associations.

Abkhazia is ready to participate in such associations exclusively on the principles of sovereign equality of states.

Participants of the Public Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia discussed the difficult military-political and humanitarian situation emerging in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The head of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry noted that a dialogue is underway with the Special Representative of Palestine in Russia and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Russia. The minister noted that the dialogue concerns, among other things, the prospects for establishing of diplomatic relations.

Participants of the Public Council discussed the prospects for the development of relations of the Republic of Abkhazia with the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Lebanon.

During a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba also emphasized that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov supported the development of business contacts between Abkhazia and the United Arab Emirates.

Inal Ardzinba also informed about the appointment of Ali Muhammad, a new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic. The Minister informed about the priorities of the new Ambassador.
Participants of the Public Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia discussed current aspects of the activities of INGOs and UN Agencies in the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.

During the discussion, new approaches to interaction with the above-mentioned organizations were discussed.

Inal Ardzinba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia provided detailed information about the principles of USAID (US Agency for International Development - the central government body) activities in the post-Soviet space, in particular on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The Minister pointed out the inadmissibility of discrepancies between the stated goals and objectives and the actual practical activities of international structures.
