The officer of the MFA of Abkhazia took part at the International School of PIR-Center on Global Security

The 19-th International School of PIR-Center on Global Security took place in Zvenigorod (Russian Federation) on April 6 - 14,2019. The event was attended by Timur Shanawa, the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Timur Shanava made a presentation on the foreign policy of the Republic of Abkhazia and its role in providing security in the South Caucasus. The report highlighted the main directions of the foreign policy of the Republic of Abkhazia, the key positions defended by Sukhum in the negotiations with Georgia in the framework of the Geneva format, outlined the external threats and challenges facing Abkhazia.

The main topics of the PIR Center School are international security, arms control, new trends in the development of a terrorist threat and military conflicts, priorities of Russian foreign and defense policy, and the future of security in the Eurasian space.
The key problems and trends in international and regional security, the approaches of Russia and other countries as well as international organizations for solving regional and world problems were discussed thoroughly.

The work was held in the format of lectures, seminars, round tables and master classes. The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, military diplomats, international scholars, and experts acted as lecturers and presenters.

The International School on Global Security is organized by the PIR-Center in collaboration with the Center for Global Issues and International Organizations of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
