Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs held a working meeting on processing and issuing visas, the procedure of imposition of consular fees and the work of the consular office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the “Psou” checkpoint.

The meeting was attended by the staff of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.

Daur Kove pointed the attention of the meeting participants to an article of I. Chaniia published on June 10, 2019 in the «Echo of the Caucasus», which, in particular, refers to receipts stamped by the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia, improperly processed and issued on the Abkhaz-Russian border for the guests of the article`s author arrived in the Republic of Abkhazia from foreign countries.

The Minister stressed the need for urgent elimination of existing omissions in the work of the consular post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the “Psou” checkpoint, increasing its efficiency and the quality of the services provided.

In addition, Daur Kove instructed to work out the issue of installing a POS-terminal at the consular office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the “Psou” checkpoint and in the shortest possible time to switch to non-cash payments. It was also pointed out the need to create a service for online visa payment.

To date, a POS- terminal for cashless payments has been installed at the Consular Department office at Sukhum, Sakharova str. 33. It is also planned to install an additional POS-terminal.
