The presentation of the international movement PROAbkhazia, an informal public association that promotes the dissemination of objective information about the Republic of Abkhazia, was held within the framework of the International Conference "10 Years of Recognition: Results and Prospects", on August 22,2018. The presentation took place at the Russian State Drama Theater named by F.A. Iskander.
The PROAbkhazia movement is aimed at disseminating objective information on Abkhazia, popularizing the republic among the representatives of other countries and peoples, acquaintance with its natural and cultural diversity.
The Council of Young Diplomats of the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia was the initiator of the creation of an informal youth social movement.
Representatives of the CYD Inar Ladariya, Victoria Malaniya and Milana Abshilava talked on the idea of creating a movement, its goals and prospects:
"The time when Abkhazia have to declare itself has come. We are ready to open up to the world and show that we are a nation picturing in a general palette of international diversity and occupying a bright niche in the history of mankind.".
Priority directions of activity of the youth movement "PROAbkhazia" are:
• popularization and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Abkhazia;
• popularization and promotion of the tourism potential of the Republic of Abkhazia;
• Counteracting information wars that foment conflicts between peoples;
• assistance in expanding international relations and contacts of the Republic of Abkhazia;
• Dissemination of objective information on the Republic of Abkhazia.
The movement intends to involve the tools of public diplomacy with the involvement of the media, public figures as well as the representatives of the intelligentsia and the scientific and intellectual community.
