We drew attention to the statement of Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia about the desire to return Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Georgia.

It is obvious that such populist statements are made on the eve of the next parliamentary elections and are aimed primarily at a domestic audience.

Any attempts by the Georgian leadership to return the Republic of Abkhazia to Georgia are absolutely futile.

We consider it necessary to once again state that the Republic of Abkhazia is an independent state and continues to follow the path of strengthening its own sovereignty. The people of the Republic of Abkhazia have made their final choice, and this choice is not subject to any revision.
