On December 12, 2023, a meeting was held in Damascus between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Syrian Arab Republic Alexander Efimov.

The parties substantively reviewed the situation in the Middle East, the development of the military-political situation in the Syrian Arab Republic, and possible scenarios for the development of the situation in the region, considering the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere.
