Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Adgur Ardzinba, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Abkhazia met with the delegation from Syria on the margins of the 4-th Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) on April 20.
The Syrian delegation was represented by Mohammed Samer Khalil, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade; Ibrahim Al Salem, the Governor of Latakia and Riad Haddad, the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation at the meeting.
The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of the Syrian Arab Republic reminded the last year's meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia at the 59-th International Fair in Damascus and noted the special significance of Abkhazia's participation in this event.
Daur Kove greeted the Syrian delegation and congratulated them on the passing Independence Day. He noted that Abkhazia monitors with the great attention the situation that is developing in the Syrian Arab Republic today. The head of Abkhazia's foreign ministry also stressed that Raul Khadzhimba, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia once again expressed his full support for the actions of the leadership and the people of Syria in the struggle that the Syrian people are conducting today in his congratulatory letter on the occasion of Independence Day to Bashar al-Assad, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic.
At the end of the meeting, Daur Kove invited the representatives of the Syrian Arab Republic to Abkhazia to take part in the festive events dedicated to the 10-th anniversary of the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia and the 25-th anniversary of the Victory Day in the Patriotic War of the Abkhazian people of 1992-1993.
The Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) is an annual international business event in the economic sphere held in the Crimea. More than 60 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America take part in the IV-th International Economic Forum in Yalta. The YIEF -2018 will operate on 19, 20 and 21of April.
