14 December 2019 4926
On December 14, 1992, a helicopter of the Russian armed forces making a humanitarian flight from the besieged town of Tkuarchal to the town of Gudauta was shot down over the high-mountain village of Lata in the Gulripsh District of the Republic of Abkhazia.
85 people died from targeted fire of the surface-to-air missile, including 35 children, half of whom were under seven years old, and the rest were teenagers.  Eight pregnant women escaped on this helicopter from the terrible conditions of the besieged town, but could not survive the barbaric act of armed criminals of the troops of the State Council of Georgia.
