On March 14, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Zaur Gvadzhava, at the invitation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, took part in a ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela.
The ceremony took place in the National Pantheon in Caracas. It was headed by the Executive Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Gil and the Ambassador of Russia to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Venezuelan authorities, ministries and departments, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador of Abkhazia Zaur Gvadzhava congratulated the Ambassador of Russia Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Gil on the anniversary of such an important date for the two countries.
Also on March 14, as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela, a gala cultural evening was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela.
The guests were received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Gil and the Ambassador of Russia to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov. The event was attended by members of the government, representatives of the military leadership, ministries and departments, the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela, and public figures.
Later there was a performance by the Simon Bolivar Orchestra and the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the main milestones of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation.
