On May 8, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the invitation of Eduard Sokolov, Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela took part in a reception on the occasion of the 80-th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Eduard Sokolov, Chargé d'Affaires delivered a welcoming speech at the reception.

During the event Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador congratulated the embassy staff on the memorable date.
The event was attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Venezuela, representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry and other guests.

On May 7, Zaur Gvadzhava, the Ambassador of Abkhazia to Venezuela at the invitation of the Russian Embassy in Venezuela took part in a ceremony to mark the 80-th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The ceremony in the National Pantheon of Venezuela was attended by: Eduard Sokolov, Chargé d'Affaires of Russia in Venezuela, Coromoto Godoy, Minister of Foreign Trade and International Investment, Leticia Gomez, Minister of Tourism members of the National Assembly Jesus Faria, representatives of the armed forces and the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela.

At the end of the event, representatives of the Popular Front, as part of the "Flame of Memory" campaign with the support of the Russian Embassy and the Russian House in Caracas delivered lamps with flame particles taken from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to Venezuela. Torches with fire were lit at the main entrance of the National Pantheon.
