Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia congratulated Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
In particular, it is noted:
"May the 9-th marks the day when humanity was saved from the greatest threat of the twentieth century at the price of the irreparable sacrifice made by the Soviet people on the altar of the common victory over German Nazism. The Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation share an unwavering pride in their ancestors who persevered in that terrible war defeated fascism, and restored hope to the world. Their courage, unwavering fortitude, and love for their homeland have served as a moral compass for subsequent generations for over eighty years. The fundamental principles and values established by their heroic deeds continue to guide the spirit of Russian soldiers today, who continue bravely to defend their homeland from foreign invaders.
"The ideology defeated in 1945 is now raising its head again, threatening historical truth, security, and our shared future. The Russian Federation is forced today to wage this struggle anew—for justice, for the right of peoples to historical memory and sovereign existence. The Republic of Abkhazia stands with its strategic partner in this confrontation and shares its position."
Oleg Bartsits wished Sergey Lavrov and the entire staff of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs health, fortitude, and success in serving the cause of peace and justice.
