On May 19, Oleg Bartsits, Foreign Minister met with Andrey Sergeev, Chairman of the Board of the National Fund for Support of Social Programs and Taimuraz Tadtayev, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation. Odyssey Bigvava, Deputy Foreign Minister and Alkhas Kvitsinia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to Russia participated in the meeting. Oleg Bartsits awarded Andrey Sergeev a Certificate of Gratitude from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his long-standing support of initiatives aimed at developing of Abkhaz-Russian cooperation. In the context of developing Abkhaz-South Ossetian relations, in a conversation with Taimuraz Tadtayev, the Minister noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia in various areas, including interparliamentary cooperation. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

On May 19, a meeting between Oleg Bartsits, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Mikhail Galuzin, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation took place at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ahead of the 67-th round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus (IDS).

Today we celebrate the 33-rd anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia. On May 17, 1993, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia adopted the Resolution "On the Establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia," signed by Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia, Vladislav Grigorievich Ardzinba.
