Two conferences were held in Berlin: the first - "Eurasian Economic Union and its importance for Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan" (organized by the German Society for the Study of Eastern Europe and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation) was held on June 27. The second conference -"Geopolitical changes in Central Asia and South Caucasus: what is the future role of Europe?" (organized by the Institute for European Policy (Berlin) and Delegation of the European Commission to Germany) was held on July 3 and 4.

Prominent European and German politicians, young researchers from the regions of Central Asia and the South Caucasus, spoke and exchanged views at the conferences.

Both conferences were attended by Khibla Amichba, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia in Germany.

Khibla Amichba noted the importance for the Republic of Abkhazia to keep up on modern studies of politics and political science of Europe. "For the first time, representatives of Abkhazia are invited to the events of this level, and we hope for further participation in such international forums of our scientists, specialists and, most importantly, the involvement of young researchers in various European projects," she said.
