Prospects for scientific, research and cultural cooperation, as well as scholarship programs between Abkhazia and Syria, became the main topic of the meeting between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic, Muhammad Ali, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim.

During the meeting, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim emphasized the importance of discussing prospects for cooperation, especially in the field of scientific research and cultural exchange between the two countries.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the SAR noted the role of the Abkhazian State University and its leading position in agricultural sciences, law, etc.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia to the SAR, Muhammad Ali, in turn, noted the need for coordination between Abkhazian and Syrian universities and the Ministries of Education of the two countries on a wide range of issues.

Ambassador Ali expressed his readiness to provide full assistance in the development and strengthening of cooperation in the field of education between Abkhazia and Syria.
