On the 10-th of December, a ceremony of signing of agreements on cooperation in the field of culture, agriculture, education and sports at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia was held in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nicaragua.

The agreements were signed by Zaur Gwajava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Nicaragua (concurrently) and Yaoska Calderon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua. 

Zaur Gvadzhav, the Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela noted that the signing of these agreements is a very important deal for Abkhazia and Nicaragua and that both countries will honour fulfill their obligations under these agreements. He also underlined that the people of Abkhazia never forget their friends and will always appreciate with gratitude the historic decision to recognize the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia, adopted by the leadership of Nicaragua represented by the President Daniel Ortega.

In turn, Yaoska Calderon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Nicaragu, expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia for the efforts in developing of relations between the two countries, and expressed the hope that the signing of these agreements will be another step towards the formation of a higher level of mutual understanding and partnership between the two states.
