On December 7, 2023, Zaur Gvadzhava, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, at the invitation of Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Venezuela took part in the grand opening of the mural “Russia and Venezuela: friendship of centuries.”

The ceremony took place at Bolivar Square in Caracas.

During the ceremony, the Russian Ambassador unveiled a mural depicting the hero Francisco de Miranda and Catherine the Great. Then Nahum Fernandez, the Governor of Caracas, Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov, the Russian Ambassador and Ernesto Villegasб the Minister of Culture of Venezuela spoke to those present.

At the end of the ceremony there was a theatrical performance.

The event was attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Venezuela, representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, representatives of the government of Caracas, deputies of the National Assembly, media representatives and other guests.
