On February 25, 2024, at the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Syrian Arab Republic, Alexander Efimov, and the military attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Rear Admiral Oleg Kornienko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic, Muhammad Ali Tataj, took part in a reception on the occasion Defender of the Fatherland Day in Damascus.

During the event, Muhammad Ali congratulated Alexander Efimov and all embassy employees on the memorable date, which is celebrated annually on February 23.

The event was attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Syria, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Abroad of the Syrian Arab Republic and other guests.
