On April 26, 2023, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, met with Patricia Villegas, President of TELESUR.
The meeting took place at the TELESUR headquarters in Caracas and was also attended by José Antonio Garcia, Director of Marketing and Programming, Rolando Segura, director of the TeleSUR School, and Natalia Bobrova, Ambassador Counselor of the Embassy.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia thanked the President Villegas for the invitation to visit the TELESUR headquarters and conveyed greetings from Inal Ardzinba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and also said that
TELESUR would always be happy to see in the Republic of Abkhazia.
The parties discussed the establishment of closer contact between TELESUR and the State Radio and Television Company of Abkhazia in order to intensify the exchange of information, news and materials between the two countries. There is also an exchange of specialists and students for the exchange of knowledge and information.
Zaur Gvadzhava and Patricia Villegas discussed many other issues of mutual interest to both sides.
The parties agreed to hold further meetings to strengthen cooperation.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and was productive. Recall that on March 7, 2017, in the city of Caracas, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Radio and Television Company of Abkhazia and TELESUR for objective and reliable information in the media space.
