The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a note to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Nauru on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru.
It is said:
A truly significant date in the recent history of the Republic of Abkhazia is December 15, 2009. The establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nauru has become a prerequisite for the development of relations of friendship and cooperation between our peoples.
A close contact has been established between our states at a high level, political cooperation is strengthening and the course for the dynamic development of bilateral relations continues in a relatively short period of time.
A bright page in the history of cooperation between our countries was the visit in November this year of a delegation led by Baron Divavesi Waqa, the President of Nauru to the Republic of Abkhazia with an official visit. This visit served as an impetus in strengthening of relations of strategic cooperation between our countries.
We are ready to fully support of further expansion of the entire range of interstate cooperation and we are sure that there is the necessary potential for this. "
