Dear Colleagues!

We celebrate the Day of the Diplomatic Worker today. I sincerely congratulate the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the employees of the Embassies and overseas service as well as the veterans of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Abkhazia on the occasion of the 28-th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The history of the establishment of the country's foreign policy agency is inextricably linked with a dramatic time for the entire people of Abkhazia, who had to defend their inalienable right to peace and freedom with arms in hand. The adoption of a resolution on the establishment of the Main Foreign Policy Agency on May 17, 1993 by the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia was one of the most important steps towards building an independent sovereign state.

The Abkhaz diplomats are working to uphold the national interests of the Republic of Abkhazia, achieve the broad international recognition, relying on the best traditions of their predecessors.

The Foreign Ministry pays the special attention to the development of the strategic interstate relations with the Russian Federation; interaction with other countries that have recognized the independence of Abkhazia is also actively developing. We attach the great importance to strengthening of the positive international image of the Republic.

The diplomacy is a special profession. The implementation of the foreign policy course is impossible without well-coordinated work of the entire team. Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs combines the experience and youth, the team is replenished with highly qualified specialists. I would like to say separately on the special role of the veterans of the diplomatic service, who passed on and pass on their knowledge to the younger generation.

I am convinced that the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia will continue to work with full dedication for the benefit of our people.
