On March 10, 2022 a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia between Inal Ardzinba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dmitry Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The meeting was attended by Sergey Shamba, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Abkhazia, Irakli Tuzhba, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Oleg Botsiev, Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia and Sergey Tadtaev, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
During the conversation, an interested exchange of views took place on key aspects of the Abkhaz-South Ossetian cooperation, as well as on the further development of bilateral cooperation.
The key topic of the meeting was the discussion of the development of the situation in Ukraine. The parties expressed support for the actions of the Russian Federation to conduct a special military operation aimed at protecting civilians in Donbas.
Following the negotiations between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, a Joint Communique was adopted.
The importance of continuing regular Abkhaz-South Ossetian inter-MFA consultations on multilateral topics was also noted.
