We are closely following the development of the situation on the line of contact in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, where over the past few days there has been a sharp escalation of tension.

As a result of the violation of the ceasefire regime, clashes took place between the Azerbaijani and Armenian military, some of whom were injured.

Largely due to the presence of Russian peacekeepers in the conflict zone, it is possible to avoid numerous casualties and a further increase in tension between the parties.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia calls on all parties to the conflict to refrain from confrontation and actions that could destroy the foundations of security in the conflict zone. We are convinced that all existing contradictions between the conflicting parties should be resolved exclusively in a peaceful manner and at the negotiating table.
