We drew attention to the material of I. Tekushev published on the website of «Radio Svoboda» which touches upon the interests of the Abkhaz-Russian relations.

We consider it necessary to emphasize that all the conclusions presented in this article do not correspond to reality as well as are absolutely far-fetched in nature and are the product of the violent imagination of the author, who has established himself as a person inclined to publish shocking and provocative materials.

In this regard, we appeal to the leadership of «Radio Svoboda», to remove or refute the material entitled “Zanzibar is Pitsunda”, which in its essence is a frank insinuation, is completely based on the author's speculations and devoid of any sense.

Moreover, the published material refers to the President of the Republic of Abkhazia as well as to some anonymous sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, who allegedly transmitted the information to the author of the publication, on the basis of which this material was prepared.

In this regard, we would like to officially declare that neither Aslan Bzhaniia, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia gave any comments for the above mentioned article. There is a strong impression that «Radio Svoboda» publishes materials on its website based on unreliable sources and uses the services of authors with a very dubious reputation.

We call on the leadership of «Radio Svoboda» to continue to treat with greater responsibility the publication of such materials, discrediting the reputation of the Republic of Abkhazia and affecting its national interests. We would also like to warn the representatives of «Radio Svoboda» that the dissemination of deliberately false and contradictory information can lead to irreparable reputational losses, as well as entail the adoption of administrative measures.
