On October 24, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the invitation of Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Venezuela took part in the opening of ceremony of the bas-relief «Tsiolkovsky K.Z., Korolev S.P., Gagarin Yu.A.»

On the occasion of the 25-th anniversary of the National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Armed Forces of Venezuela, in the year of the 90-th anniversary of the birth of the first cosmonaut in the world, Yuri Gagarin, the university hosted the opening of the bas-relief «Tsiolkovsky K.Z., Korolev S.P., Gagarin Yu.A.», donated by the Russian side to the University.

The ceremony was attended by, in particular, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, the Russian Ambassador to Venezuela and Major General Ricardo Nicodemo Ramos, the rector of the university.

The event was organized by the Russian Embassy in Venezuela with the assistance of the faculty and student body of the University.
