On December 3, 2021, Andrei Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation held a meeting with Irakliy Tuzhba, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, the head of the Abkhaz delegation to the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in the Transcaucasus.

In the course of the meeting there was a substantive exchange of views on the agenda of the upcoming round of the IGD, which will take place on December 7-8. The participants of the meeting discussed a wide range of topical issues and agreed on positions on some aspects of the format of the International Geneva Discussions.

Special attention was paid to the issue of promoting a legally binding agreement on international guarantees of the non-use of force, as well as the problem of security in the region.

Participants in the meeting also exchanged views on current issues of bilateral cooperation.
