The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia sent a note of condolences to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a note of condolences to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia on the occasion of the 30-th anniversary of the earthquake in Armenia.

It is said:

“Tens of thousands of people were killed as a result of a devastating earthquake occurred in Armenia On December 7, 1988. This terrible tragedy left no one indifferent and became a common misfortune for all the peoples of the Soviet Union. Volunteers from all over the USSR, including from Abkhazia, came to the aid of the affected Republic.

However, despite on the gravity of the tragedy the Armenian people could find the strength in themselves and went through all the trials that fell to its lot.

Fraternal Abkhazia completely shared the pain of the people of Armenia, who lost their loved ones in those difficult days and on this mournful day together with the Armenian people honor the blessed memory and grieves on the untimely passed.”
